Among the additions made in the design of the shrine's new grid of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him), is designing and implementing a ceiling that is different than the old grid, not only from the design and implementation sides but also in terms of durability, precision and craftsmanship.
No color or dye were used as it was relied only on the natural wood color, which was imported from world-class origins with high quality and characteristics. And with the graduated colors; white, yellow, green, black, purple, red and teak, in various types like the wood of teak, oak, beech, bitter orange, walnut... All these wood types were used according to the special proportions and measurements prepared in advance to accomplish this blessed work.
The ceiling has a rectangular form (390 x 260 cm) centered by a hidden dome divided into twelve pieces, and contains 12 ribs of 100cm of diameter and 35cm height, covered and linked from the top by the bridges of the wooden structure, and covered by the third part of the grid's roof, which is manufactured of gilded copper. In the middle of the ceiling, there is a chandelier with electric lamps. The dome is surrounded by eight inscripted "Turar", on which was written "Ya Abbas" in square form using the nested Kufic line by the calligrapher Dr. Rawdhan Al-Bahiyyah, to form with the rest of the ceiling's pieces and motifs a very magnificent and beautiful piece of art, all of which were installed inside the holy grid in artistic and precise way.
