The inauguration of one of the main entrances of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine..

Marking the birth anniversary of Aba Al-Fadl Al-abbas (peace be upon him) and to coincide with the twelfth edition of the international cultural festival of the martyrdom spring held and sponsored by the holy shrines of Imam Al-Hussayn and Al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them), a ceremony was held for the inauguration of one of the most important gates and entrances of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; the Euphrates gate "Al-'Alqami", which is one of the main entrances of the holy shrine as it is linked to the major road taken by the isitors heading to the Ziyarat of the holy shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him).
This gate project is one of the parts of the great and vital expansion project of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, built in the place of the old gates but with larger sizes and with Islamic artistic carvings and motifs according to the design and location of each gate, to accommodate greater number of visitors and Hussayni procession entering the holy shrine. These gates were designed and implemented by Ard Quds company for constructions and under the direct supervision of the Engineering project Department at the holy shrine. The works on these gates needed great time commensurate with the high operational accuracy needed for the artistic details such as the Muqarnas and written bands...
The inauguration ceremony of this gate was attended by the High Responsible of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine Sayed Ahmed al-Safi, accompanied by the Secretary General of the holy shrine Engineer Mohammad Al-Asheeqar, the guests of the martyrdom spring festival and a number of the officials of the holy shrine. during the ceremony, the presence has listened to Engineer Dea' Majeed Al-Sa'egh, the head of engineering projects department at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine -the supervising authority on the establishment of this project-, who has presented a brief explanation about the most important technical and engineering specifications of this gate.
The gate after unveiling it, looked like a very magnificent and beautiful piece of art, that is consistent and harmonious with the patterns and colors used within the holy shrine, and it was supplied by systems of lighting, sound, fire alarm and cameras linked to the central system of the holy shrine. It was also provided with ablution rooms at its sides, using the finest materials of world-class origins, the streaky Kashi Karbalai, and Quranic bands written by the most skilled calligraphers, in addition to other technical and artistic specifications.
It is to note that the General Secretariat of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has given great attention to this project, as these gates with the other outer parts of the Quranic bands and arches and other finishing works of this project are very magnificent piece of art in term of design and implementation, as they are combining the authencity of the old architecture of the holy shrine and the use of architectutral and structural materials of high efficiency and quality by the designers who have excelled in the creativity of the implementation of this important project.
