Starting the maintenance work of the wooden gates of the shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him)

Within the period works carried out by the engineering maintenance Department at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, the technical staffs at the carpentry division of the mentioned department started a campaign for the maintenance of the main wooden gates of the holy shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) in line with the finishing works conducted to these gates within the expansion project, and which included many inscriptions and decorations in tune with expansion of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine.

The works are taking place according to the plan developed by the department, and that will include the maintenance of the gates that have been subject to climatic effect or to the works associated to the expansion project, as well as being exposed to the frequent touching of the visitors. And because of the scarcity of the gates' wood, their strength and durability, the Carpentry Division proceeded to conduct a preliminary study including the evaluation of all damages to directly conduct the maintenance works after the preparation of the necessary materials for this campaign.

The staff has begun repainting them by giving attention to the details such as the engravings, stars and mineral details to protect them and to ensure its shine and splendor. The works started by the gate of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) (al-kaff) to continue respectively with the rest of the gates.

It is to mention that the carpentry division includes many working units and is responsible for many maintenance works, as it has machines, equipment and technical and engineering staffs who manufacture offices' furniture for all the departments of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, as well as the manufacture of the wooden desks, and closets in various sizes and shapes, as well as the manufacture works of the hanged shelves (file boxes) and other works.
