What do you know about the martyr of Bakhumra" Ahmar Al-'Aynayn"?

The land of Iraq is the resting place for many saints including the Imams and their children (peace be upon them), And it is hard to find an area in this land without a sanctuary of one of the member of the prophecy's lineage, mercy of God for the worlds, safe havens and a place where the anguished ones can ask their needs, as each of these sanctuaries is a door to the wide mercy of God.

This land was also a starting point for the revolutions of the progeny of the prophecy House (peace be upon them), following and enlightened by the uprising of their grandfather Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), as they refused the injustice and have chosen to die under the shade of swords.

History has told us the major movements that have had a prominent role in returning the usurped right to its people in the era of Mansour Al-Dawaniqi, including the revolution of the martyr of Bakhumra Sayed Ibrahim son of Abdullah son of Al-Hassan Al-Muthanna son of Imam Al-Hassan (peace be upon them), as he was able to take the control over many Areas such as Basra, Ahwaz, Wasit, Mada'in and others, which has made Mansour Al-Dawaniqi angry and bewildered thinking to escape, which shows the strength of this revolution as it was supported by all kind of people.

And today was the martyrdom anniversary of this brave man Abi Al-Hassan son of Abdillah Al-Mahd son of Al-Hassan Al-Muthanna son of Imam Al-Hassan son the Commander of the Faithful Ali Ibn Abi Taleb (peace be upon them), his father was named Al-Mahd because his mother is the daughter of Imam Al-Hussayn and his father is the son of Imam Al-Hassan (peace be upon them), so he was a man of honour, pride and dignity. As for his son Sayed Ibrahim, he was named Ahmar Al-'aynayn "red eyes" as his eyes' iris were red.

He was known for his courage and bravery, his piety and knowledge, eloquence and Arabic poetry.

In his uprising against Mansour Al-Dawaniqi, he conquered Basra, making him have a strong command over more than ten thousand fighters from Basra, so he sent an army to conquer Ahwaz and Persia, and when Mansour received the news he feared for his power and authority, he equipped his armies and he send them the first time to Bakhemra, where the army of Mansour led by Issa ibn Moussa got defeated and went back to Kufa.

Al-Mansour then sent again more armies but to the back of the Basra army to surround them. Ibrahim, who was leading his army with valour and courage, was martyred them by an arrow that pierced his heart. And this was in the year 145 AH. The head of Ibrahim was cut and sent to Mansour in Kufa, to bring back the memory of what happened in Taf of Karbala, reminding the Umayyad's style that the Abbasids sustain.

It is said in by Abd Al-Hussayn Al-Shabastary in his book "the companions of Imam As-Sadeq (peace be upon him)" that he has narrated that Imam Al-Baqer (peace be upon him), has prayed for his soul. And we also find that Du'bul Al-Khuza'i the poet of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) has wrote a verse of obituary in his famous poem "Ta'yat Du'bul", which he has presented in the Majlis of Imam Ar-Reda (peace be upon him).

The sanctuary of sayed Ibrahim is located in Bani 'Aredh 10 kilometres from the city of Rumaytha in Muthanna - Samawah, which is known by Abu Jawarir. Visitors from all Iraq come to visit this sanctuary seeking the blessings of his owner. The sanctuary is located in a beautiful agricultural area with beautiful trees and the branches of Euphrates River.
