In pictures: This is how the servants of the two holy shrines of Imam Al-Hussayn and Al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) commemorate the seventh day of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Al-Hussayn and his saint family (peace be upon them).

As part of the commemoration of the sad Ashura days and nights, as the lovers and followers of Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon thm) from inside and outside Karbala are used to commemorate with grief and sadness the seventh day of the martyrdom of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him). And on the 17th of Muharram 1438 AH corrsponding to the 19th of October 2016, the servants of the two holy shrines went in a condolence procession led by a number of officials and heads of departments as well as the visitors.
The beginning of the procession was from the shrine of the standard-bearer of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him); Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him), where the staff of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine at the holy sanctuary in form of groups to move towards the shrine of the Master of martyrs (peace be upon him) chanting elegies and Hussayni lamentations.
Then they headed towards the shrine of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), holding candles to remind that on the seventh day after the marytrdom of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), nobody was there to lit candles on the his holy grave, which is a condolence tradition that mourners are accustomed to perform in such a day. This condolence activity was concluded after that the staff of the holy shrine of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) have participated along with the staff of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrineto hold a joint condolence Majlis in the holy sanctuary of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) in which they chanted elegies and lamentation that speak about this calamity and this sad anniversary for the true lovers of Mohammad (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household) in the year 61 AH.
