The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine recalls the martyrs of the liberation battle of Al-Khalidiyah and pay tribute to a new group of martyrs of the federal police.

A ceremony to pay tribute to a new group of martyrs' families from federal police, who have fallen in defence of Iraq in the liberation battles of Al-Khalidiyah, was held at the hall of Imam Al-Hassan (peace be upon him) for conferences and seminars at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine on Monday morning 6th of Safar 1438 AH corresponding to the 7th of November 2016, in the presence of officials and administrators at the holy shrine, representatives of the federal police forces' leadership and the martyrs' families.

The ceremony to pay tribute 50 martyrs' families, has begun by the recitation of verses of the Holy Quran, reading Fatiha in memory of the martyrs of Iraq, and listening to Iraqi national anthem and the chant of the holy shrine "Pride's tune".

Followed by the word of the General Secretariat of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, delivered by the head of the Religious Affairs Department; Sheikh Salah Al-Karbala'i, in which he stated: "The supreme religious authority gives great interest to the martyrs who have sacrificed their blood and souls for the soil of this country, they are indeed our pride, and it behoves us with the approach of Ziyarat Arba'een to focus on the significant role of the federal police forces and other security forces and the popular mobilization, as they have the greatest role for the safety not only of Iraq but of the all countries in the world. Noting that the sacrifices of the federal police in the liberation battles has proven that they are men of responsibility. So congratulations to their families for gaining this unmatched honour."

Adding: "The history that is being written by the blood of Iraq's heroes must be documented so it is transferred to the future generations with all credibility that enable them to be inspired from this period in Iraq. And this paying tribute ceremony is only to express the loyalty to the blood of your children who have protected Iraq."

Then Sayed Adnan Al-Musawi from the Department of Religious Affairs has recalled these families of the moment in Ashura day when Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) has lost his beloved ones, family and friends, his son Ali Al-Akbar (peace be upon them) for the sake of principle, which ha sbeen embodied today by the sacrifices of your sons.

The honouring ceremony was concluded by the distribution of in-kind and blessing gifts to the martyrs' families, who have praised the initiative of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, that is moral rather than material as they feel is as a tribute from Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) and encourage them to continue giving and fighting until the elimination of the terrorist ISIL organization.
