The works of maintenance and renewal of the shrine's roof of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) by the Engineering Maintenance Department.

The maintenance and renewal plans developed by the Engineering Maintenance Department at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, has included various facilities either inside or outside the holy shrine according to a time a space schedule set up by the management of the department to not intersect with its daily duties. Its technical and engineering staff has started a large campaign to perpetuate the roof starting from the roof of the sanctuary to the roof of the expansion project and the walls of the holy shrine.

The works have included according to those in charge, removing the residues on the roof resulting of the expansion project works and conducting a space study to point out the problems that need to be treated.

And after the completion of these works, we started first to replace the runnels of rainwater with new ones with a new design and installed also with a modern method that depends on the specific levels of water compatible with the whole roof surface. These runnels were manufactured inside the department workshops by a length of 325 meters.

Then, we have removed the surplus electricity and telecommunication cables and have replaced the rest by linking them in a hidden way. The works have also included covering the floor of the clock tower in the Qiblah gate with a special material and alabaster for 16 square meters.

These works were accompanied by other works that included 500 meters internal foundry cannels inside the holy sanctuary, as well as covering all the cooling pipes and replacing or repairing the damaged ones.
