The support of the Department of Religious Affairs at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine to the fighters of the security forces and the volunteers and their martyrs and wounded in the year 2016 in figures.

The Department of Religious Affairs at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine has announced the money spent last year (2016) for the support of the fighters of the security forces and the volunteers and the families of their martyrs and wounded was of 1.323.568.000; one billion, three hundred and twenty-three million, five hundred and sixty-eight thousand Iraqi dinars, all from the donations collected from Al-Kafeel support funds supervised by a special committee from the mentioned department.

And the preparation, organization, distribution and sorting the Al-Kafeel funds for the support of the mujahedeen and their families, is among the important activities carried out by the Department of Religious Affairs at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine in the year 2016.

This simple idea has great fruits, as it comes within the integrated support program according to plan methodology consistent with the possibilities that had been prepared by the Department of Religious Affairs at the holy shrines since the declaration of the Fatwa to defend Iraq and its holy places. The program was as follows:

• 1- The financial and moral support of the security and popular mobilization forces in the battlefields against the terrorist gangs, with a total amount of 213.068.00 Iraqi dinars, which includes providing them with night binoculars, military uniforms and a variety of dry and fresh food items, meat and water, as well as phones' balances, cigarettes and perfume.
• 2- Being in touch with the families of the martyrs who have fallen in defence of Iraq and its sanctities in compliance with the orders of the supreme religious authority. The number of the families benefiting from this program was 1092 martyrs' families having a total financial support of 1.083.000.000 Iraqi dinars. The gift is delivered directly to the martyr's family upon their visit, or by calling them to come to a close area to their residence place, or inside the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine or according to the family's choice in the case when it is not possible for the holy shrine's delegation to reach them.
• 3- Being in touch with the wounded security and popular mobilization forces and visiting them either in their houses or in the hospitals, to provide them with the financial and moral support. Including providing financial aid to help them overcome this ordeal, with the total amount of 27.500.000 Iraqi dinars.

Paying tribute to the martyrs' families has included the distribution of financial grants of one million Iraqi dinars for each family in all of Iraq's provinces, according to each group within its administrative units, in addition that some financial grants are given to some of the fighters of the popular mobilization factions from those who did not receive their salaries or other humanitarian cases.

It is to note that this program's purpose is to support the volunteers forces who answered the call of the Supreme religious authority to defend Iraq and its holy places, and in accordance with the directives of the Supreme religious authority, which urged and emphasized the support of the security and popular mobilization forces while they are engaged in the midst of a fierce war against the enemies of God and of humanity, which requires additional efforts in order to sustain the momentum of the battle against tis aggression, especially that a large part of the popular mobilization forces suffers from a lack of material resources.
