The opening ceremony of the second scientific forum for indexing and classification held by the Library and House of Manuscripts at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine

The second scientific forum for indexing and classification held by the Center of Indexing and information systems of the Library and House of Manuscripts at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, held under the slogan "The electronic indexing in the Arab environment using the RDA system, and which will last for two day with the participation of researchers from inside and outside Iraq, was launched at the Hall of Imam Al-Hassan (peace be upon him) for conferences and seminars at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine on Thursday morning the 18th of Jumada al-Ula 1438 AH, corresponding to the 16th of February 2017.

The opening ceremony, which was attended by a number of religious and academic personalities in addition to cataloguers and researchers, has begun by the recitation of verses of the Holy Quran and the reading to the Fateha in memory of the martyrs of Iraq, followed by the national anthem and the anthem of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine "the melody of pride", then came the word of the High Responsible of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine his eminence Sayed Ahmed Al-Safi.

Followed by the word of the Arab Federation for Libraries delivered by DR. Omar Mohamad Jradat in which he praised the great effort done by the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and its cadres in the Library and House of Manuscripts through indexing books and conserving manuscripts, as according to him its work has surpassed the works of lot of major libraries in the Arab world within a short time, stressing that the Arab Federation for libraries and information will support the hosting library by all the available means in appreciation for your blessed efforts."

Then a documentary film about the indexing and information systems Center was displayed to show its development stages, followed by the word of DR. 'Ala; Al-'Alaq the Director of the House of Books and National Documents. And then the word of DR. Jassem Mohamad Jarjis former secretary general of the Arab Federation for Libraries and Information, followed by the word of the scientific committee delivered by DR. Mohamad 'Awdah 'aliwi.

Then the attendees headed to the opening of the joint exhibition of manuscripts and rare documents at the Library and House of Manuscripts at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and the House of Books and National Documents.
