The representative of the Supreme Religious Authority praises the heroic acts and sacrifices of the fighters, and cites the story of a fighter who was injured recently in the liberation of Mosul battles.

The representative of the Supreme Religious Authority his eminence Sayed Ahmed al-Safi has praised in the second sermon of Friday prayer of the 4th of Jumada II 1438 AH corresponding to the 3rd of March 2017, which was led by him in the holy shrine of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), the heroic acts and great sacrifices of the fighters of the security and popular mobilization forces, citing the story of the wounded fighter "Rahim Mandhour Hussayn" from Diwaniyah, Afak district, born in 1966, whose both legs were recently amputated in the liberation of Mosul battles, and still enjoys high spirits, noting that these models are the pride and hope of the country. His Eminence has stated:

"I would like to tell you, Brethren, a story from the heroes stories, I have visited recently some of the injured in the recent fighting in Mosul, and among the wounded that I had the honor to visit the wounded fighter "Rahim Mandhour Hussayn" from Diwaniyah, Afak district, born in 1966, whose both legs were recently amputated in the liberation of Mosul battles. We had in our minds that while visiting those wounded we offer them some gifts and we will try to motivate them, but in reality, they are those who make our motivation and spirits high, as we find him having large smile, believing that his amputated legs is a divine mercy, and asking for one thing is to rush to give him prosthetics so he can join his fellow brothers in the battlefield. He also told us that his son is abroad, we thought that his son was studying or working abroad, but he explained that his son was a fighter too who was seriously injured some time ago, and his case needed to be taken outside the country for hospitalisation. And when we see this man and feel his high spirits, we get silent as no words can describe this case.

Adding: "When we visit these heroes, they give the feeling that they are in their wedding night, smiling, laughing and full of hope, and they even apologize to us. These models are our pride and the hope of the country, and all these words are nothing in front of their sacrifices. And it is a nice thing that his name is Rahim Mandhour Hussayn, if we translate it, it will be "merciful, vowed to Hussayn", which reflects his high spirits. I ask Allah to give him recovery, and God willing when he will have his prosthetics, he won't need to join the fight as the country is soon to be liberated from the machination of the plotters, God willing."
