In pictures: The servants of the two holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) present their condolences to Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) on the death anniversary of his mother Lady Oum al-Baneen (peace be upon her).

The venerable Lady Oum al-Baneen (peace be upon her) has a distinct and privileged position at the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), as they have valued her loyalty and dedication to Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) and praised the sacrifices of her noble sons for their master Aba Abdillah al-Hussayn (peace be upon him). She represents a rare example of a woman who has made enormous sacrifices and offered all she has for the glory of Islam and to uphold its word.

Today, as we commemorate her death anniversary on the thirteenth of Jumada Second, in which her lovers and disciples in the East and the West revive this sad occasion. Karbala and its holy shrines are also commemorating this occasion as it is the capital of the Mohammadian sadness and the home of the sons of Oum al-Baneen (peace be upon her) and the resting place for those who offered their souls oblation for the sake of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him).

And the servants of the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) have presented their condolences to the apple of Oum al-Baneen (peace be upon her) her son Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him). The rituals of the condolences started at the two holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them), where the servants of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine lined up led by its secretary-general and a gathering of the members of the board of directors and heads of departments to read the Ziyarat of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) and the holy shrine anthem (the pride's melody", followed by elegies about the venerable Lady Oum al-Baneen (peace be upon her), and when the ceremony was about to end, the servants of Aba Abdillah al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) along with the secretary-general of the holy shrine of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) and a number of its officials and administrators entered the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) after performing their rituals at the Imam al-Hussayn's (p) holy shrine to be welcomed by the servants of the holy shrine with expressions of grief and sorrow, and then all have lined up to chant a condolence elegy representing the depth of this painful occasion and showing the great status of this venerable Lady (peace be upon her). The rituals were concluded by chanting phrases of loyalty to remain faithful to this holy land.

Oum al-Baneen (peace be upon her) was buried in Baqi' cemetery near Ibrahim, Zaynab, Oum Kulthum, Abdullah, al-Qassem and others companions and martyrs. Her grave was demolished by the Naasibis along with the graves of the Imams of Ahl al-Bayt; Imam al-Hassan al-Mujtaba, Imam Ali Zayn al-'Abideen, Imam Mohammad al-Baqer and Imam Ja'far as-Sadeq (peace be upon them).

So, peace be upon the virtuous, loyal and sincere woman, who has consoled the Immaculate Lady Az-Zahra (peace be upon her) in the tragedy of Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), and established funerals for him. Peace be upon her the day she was born, the day she dies and the day she will resuscitate by the permission of her Lord.
