The al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine recalls the Fatwa of the sacred defense in a cultural festival.

Under the slogan "The fatwa is the fragrance of victory and the Musk of martyrdom", the second cultural festival of the fatwa of the sacred defense was launched on Thursday afternoon the 21st of Sha'baan 1438 AH corresponding the 18th of May 2017 in the hall of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him) for conferences and seminars, held by the department of the Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine. This festival came as a reminder of the blessed fatwa that was launched by the supreme religious authority and the great response it has received from the Iraqi people.

The festival, which was attended by the Senior Official of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and a number of its officials in addition to a wide presence of religious, cultural and academic figures and a gathering of popular mobilization fighters, has begun by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and reading the Fatihah in memory of the martyrs of Iraq, followed by the national anthem and then the hymn of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine "Melody of Pride". Then the Senior Official of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, his eminence Sayed Ahmad al-Safi has delivered his word.

Then a poem from the vertical poetry was chanted by the poet Najah al-'ersan in which he has praised the great sacrifice and heroism of the Iraqi people in their response to the blessed fatwa. This poem was followed by the word of the General Supervisor of the al-Abbas's (p) fighting squad; Mr. Maytham al-Zaidi.

A documentary film produced by the al-Kafeel Division for the artistic production at the holy shrine was displayed to document the great services provided by the supreme religious authority to the displaced families from northern Iraq to the south. Then the project of the Encyclopaedia of the Holy Defense Fatwa was announced, which was conducted by the al-'Ameed International Center for research and studies of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine.

Then the attendees have headed to the area between the two holy shrines to the opening of the photo exhibition that document the victories of the fighters of the holy defense fatwa, displaying a number of the pictures and other artistic works presented by photographers and artists from inside and outside the holy shrine.
