The United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq (UNAMI): The al-Abbas's (p) Fighting Squad has provided significant humanitarian services that are parallel to its military action to free Iraq from terrorism.

The al-Abbas's (p) fighting squad has announced that it had received a delegation from the United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq (UNAMI) at its headquarters in the province of Karbala. During the meeting, which was attended by the supervisor of the Squad; Sheikh Maitham Al-Zaidi, some important issues related to the battles being waged by our security forces and the popular mobilization in order to liberate the land from the terrorist ISIL gangs, we discussed focusing on the humanitarian side provided to the civilians or displaced families, while at the same time urging the Office to do more.

The Squad's statement stated that the delegation explained to the Squad's supervisor that the choice of the al-Abbas's (p) fighting Squad in this regard came because the activities of the Squad as in addition to its military discipline, the Squad has great humanitarian activities, efforts and services parallel to the military action to liberate Iraq of terrorism, which prompted them to come to the holy city of Karbala and meet with the leadership of the al-Abbas's (p) fighting squad, which is an important and positive openness as the United Nations has international support and influencing role in the regional convictions towards the popular mobilization forces.

The Squad' supervisor has also reviewed the part of the humanitarian effort and relief services provided by the office of His Eminence Sayed Ali al-Sistani, and stressed that these efforts far exceed that provided by the United Nations, which has international support, noting that the delegation promised to intensify their humanitarian efforts in various regions, and also presenting an invitation to visit the headquarters of the United Nations Mission in the capital Baghdad to the Squad's leadership.
