The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine did not spare any effort to provide the noble services to the city of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) in order to show it in the most beautiful and finest image, as it is a destination for millions of visitors coming from the provinces of Iraq and from all over the world. And the planting project adopted by the holy shrine is one of the pioneering and important project that serve the city and its respected visitors, and which has been fruitful as the trees have grown to soften the atmosphere and to be a shade for the visitors.
This blessed project was established eight years ago and was implemented by the staff of the holy shrine in most of the streets and neighborhoods of the city, including al-Iskan, al-Islah, al-Ta'awun, al-Nasr, al-Mohafadha street, main street of the sanctuary of Lady Jawdah, street of Bab Twayreej, street of Maitham al-tammar, and many other streets, in addition to all streets of the old city, which were planted with various types of seedlings such as Conocarpus, Acacia and olive trees in addition to various types of seedlings that are resistant to the harsh weather conditions in Iraq. And up to now there are tens of thousands of trees planted after creating the appropriate conditions from drilling and plowing the soil to address and prepare it well in preparation for planting the trees.
The process of planting continues until the preparation of this report in order to plant all the streets of the holy city. Knowing that the holy shrine has ensured the irrigation, care and protection of these trees from agricultural pests that may affect them by continuous campaigns by the cadres of the service affairs department at the holy shrine.
