The first groups of the al-Abbas's (p) Fighting Squad are linked to the Ministry of Defense.

On the sidelines of the meeting, which gathered the Iraqi Defense Minister; Mr. Irfan al-Hayali and the General Supervisor of the al-Abbas's (p) fighting squad Mr. Maitham al-Zaidi, the latter announced that the first members of the Squad are officially associated with the Ministry of Defense after completing the necessary approvals to include a group of the Squad fighters who fought for nearly three years and were not deployed in the popular mobilization board.

The two sides met at the headquarters of the minister in Baghdad to discuss several issues, the most important of which is the connection of these forces to the Ministry of Defense and the issue of the duty in Tal A'far that is a priority of the Squad in addition to other topics.

Mr. Zaidi has stated that these numbers that meet the conditions of volunteering in the Ministry of Defense will participate in the next duty.

For his part, al-Zaidi thanked the minister for the high support provided by this ministry to the al-Abbas's (p) fighting squad, which was one of the main reasons for the development of its skills and capabilities.

It is to note that the al-Abbas's (p) fighting squad is one of the form of the popular mobilization, some of whose fighters are register in the popular mobilization under the brigade 26, and that represented the popular mobilization in the liberation operation of the right coast within the axe of the Iraqi army that succeeded to liberate the largest part of this duty.
