The preparations continue for the Second International Conference of al-Kafeel Museum, and the Supervisory Committee confirms that its research are valuable and at the level of specialized international research conferences.

As part of the preparations for the Second International Conference of al-Kafeel Museum, an extensive session was held on the morning of the 12th of Shawwal 1438 AH corresponding to the 7th of July, 2017 in the presence of the sub-committees supervising the conference, in order to get acquainted with its works and to discuss the research that will participate in it according to axes set by the supreme supervising committee.

This comes after the success of the last edition of this conference and in order to preserve this achievement and its progress, the preparations continue for holding the second edition, which will be launched on the 11th and 12th of September 2017 under the slogan "Museums: civilization and economy."

The head of the al-Kafeel museum for treasures and manuscripts at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine Mr. Sadeq Lazem has stated about this preparative session: "The General Secretariat of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine seek through the al-Kafeel Museum Department to establish the second conference with Arab and international participation in various scientific and cultural specifications, as there were many scientific sessions during this period, in which it began by selecting the topics and preparing them in the main axes for the development of the objectives of the conference."

Adding: "The research that will participate in the conference, and which topics varied between the heritage, the economy, the museums and other topics, were discussed in the presence of all the members of the committee supervising the conference and its president. The research were evaluated and distributed to the members of the committee after taking some points into account."

As for the committees participating in this conference, the head of the scientific committee supervising the conference; Dr. Ibrahim Sarhan al-Shummari: "The committee supervising the second international conference of al-Kafeel Museum has held a session to discuss the results of the preparations for this international scientific conference. The subject of the meeting was to discuss the scientific research that we have received from researchers and archaeologists, as this conference is distinctive by Arab and foreign participation in addition to the Iraqi one, with the participation of researchers from Egypt, Germany, Japan and Iran as well as Iraqi research participating from various Iraqi universities."

It is to note that the conference is part of a series of conferences and specialized activities sponsored and held by the holy shrine to open a window for communication and exchange of experiences among museums, specialists and artists in the world of modern and contemporary art, as it will be attended by an elite of researchers, specialists and officials of museums from inside and outside Iraq and it aims to:

First: Preservation of the cultural and civilization heritage.

Second: Supporting religious institutions to establish specialized museums and develop the museum work.

Third: Opening up and developing cooperation with local and international museums' institutions.

Fourth: Develop the performance of the museums' work to enhance the media and economic knowledge of the museum.
