Important: The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine issues a statement congratulating for the liberation of Mosul and emphasizes that the only cause of victory is the Fatwa and the response of Iraqis to it.

The al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has issued on Tuesday afternoon (the 16th of Shawwal 1438 AH corresponding to July 11, 2017) a statement congratulating for the liberation of Mosul. The statement was delivered by its Secretary-General Eng. Mohamad al-Ashigar. The statement is as follows:

Statement

On the occasion of the great victory by liberating Mosul from the terrorist ISIL gangs

From the land of heroism and pride..

From the shrine of the standard-bearer Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him)..

From the sacred lands from which the fatwa was launched, the fatwa of the supreme religious authority to defend Iraq, its people and its sanctities.

And on the occasion of the declaration of the liberation of Mosul al-Hadba.

We first congratulate those who are, and no one else, the cause of the great victory, and the liberation of cities, Kasbahs, villages and the rest of Iraq lands, and the last the dear Mosul.

We congratulate those heroes whom are considered by the supreme religious authority as "the first and last author of this great epic."

They are "The courageous fighters in all their denominations from the counterterrorism forces, federal police, brigades of the Iraqi army, air force, army aviation, the fractions of the volunteers and the members of the Iraqi tribes, and all those supporting them from their families and the processions of the logistic support" as stated by the supreme religious authority in its sermon.

We congratulate them first, because the victory without them is impossible, as they are one of its two reasons.

And because they are with the fatwa, just the both of them -not without them or with them- have made the wings of the great victory over the terrorist gangs of ISIL, broke their myth and saved Iraq and the countries of the region from their danger.

They have fought on behalf of humanity, and laid out its finest features in sacrifice, redemption and self-denial.

And the thanks continue to the other categories of the Iraqi people, this people, which described by the supreme religious authority with qualities that distinguishes it from other, stating:

"The Iraqi people with their principles and values of rejection of injustice and humiliation will not let them enjoy that, but they are offering all they have -even their blood- in order to defend the land, the honor and the sanctities. Noting that the last three years have proved the authenticity of the Iraqi people and their high readiness for the sacrifice and redemption in the sake of dignity and pride whenever needed, and that it has a wealth of strong men and women who are proud and able to overcome the misfortunes and crises that plague the country, and everyone should stand together to achieve the aspirations of security, prosperity, progress and development, God willing."

So, congratulations to the Iraqis and humanity for this victory, which remind our people with the demand of the supreme religious authority in the sermon of 13th of June 2015:

“And I would like to reiterate once again the need to preserve this shining history by documenting all the elements of events for fear of losing or switching them, as the future generations have the right to read our history as clearly and accurately as we have read the history of our ancestors."

And the word of His Eminence: "Peace be upon you, steadfast and patient people that have surprised the world by its patience and steadfastness."

And the latest of our prayers is; praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, and Allah's prayers and peace be upon Mohammad and upon his pure and virtuous lineage.

On Shawwal 16, 1438 AH, corresponding to July 11, 2017.

Secretary General of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine.
