With the participation of more than 16 thousand participants, the Institute of the Holy Quran concludes its summer Quranic courses.

The closing ceremony of the summer Quranic courses held by the Institute of the Holy Quran of the Department of Islamic and human knowledge Affairs at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, with the participation of more than 16 thousand students from different age groups and different school levels from inside the province of Karbala and in its branches in the rest of the Iraqi provinces, was held in the holy sanctuary of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) on Friday afternoon the 18th of Dhu al-Qi'dah 1438 AH, corresponding to the August 11, 2017.

The ceremony started by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran recited by one of the graduates of these courses, followed by the word of the Institute of the Holy Quran delivered by its Director Sheikh Jawad al-Nasrawi, who has highlighted the most important activities of the Institute that are held throughout the year, from competitions, courses, evenings... In addition to the Readers' National Project, which is also one of the projects of great importance and impact in the embrace of young Quran reciters, as well as the activities of the Institute during the season of Ziyarat Arba'een through the Quranic stations opened throughout the road leading to Karbala, all of which have a positive results as the graduates of the Institute have participated in international competitions and won advanced positions.

Sheikh al-Nasrawi has explained that the project of the summer Quranic courses is one of the most important projects launched by the Institute and it is maintained annually in the summer holidays. The aim of these courses is to build a conscious intellectual generation that adheres to the Holy Quran and Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), and adhering to the Hadith of the Holy Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household): "I am leaving among you the Two Weighty Things: the Book of Allah and my `Itrat (Progeny), my Ahl al Bayt. So long as you (simultaneously) uphold both of them, you will never be misled after me; so, do not go ahead of them else you should perish, and do not lag behind them else you should perish; do not teach them, for they are more knowledgeable than you."

Sheikh al-Nasrawi has added: "The students participating in these courses were from the holy city of Karbala, Baghdad, Najaf, Babylon and Hindiya. These students have learned in these courses a series of lessons, including memorizing the Holy Quran and how to recite it correctly, as well as lessons in jurisprudence, morals and the biography of the Holy Prophet and Ahl al-Bayt (Allah's prayers be upon them all). And that the fruits of this project includes also that we find some students who have high ability of memorizing the Holy Quran, whom we included in our other project of memorization of the Holy Quran during five years."

Then the Secretary-General of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; Engineer Mohamad al-Ashigar; has delivered his word, in which he has thanked the fighters of all denominations, especially the volunteers of the Fatwa of Jihad, the martyrs and their families, for their great role in preserving the security and safety of Iraq, its people and sanctities, as were it not for their sacrifices and dedication, such ceremonies would not have set up...

Then, a group of students recited some verses of the Holy Quran collectively in the way of the school of Sheikh Abd al-Fattah al-Sha'sha'i. Followed by a speech of the participating students delivered on their behalf by the student Mohamad Abd al-Hussayn, in which he expressed their thanks of the students to the efforts harnessed during these courses, in which their Quranic, jurisprudential and doctrinal culture have increased.

The closing ceremony was concluded by a collective recitation of the Holy Quran of some of the participants in the national project of the prince of readers, and from the school of Sheikh 'Antar Sa'id.
