The Senior Official of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine meets with the Indian ambassador in Iraq and discusses with him ways to enhance cooperation and joint action.

The Senior Official of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine; His Eminence Sayed Ahmad al-Safi; met with the Indian ambassador in Iraq; Mr. Pradim Singh Tajpur Rohit in the hall of honors at the holy shrine. During this meeting they have discussed a set of matters within the growing cooperation between Iraq and India.

The two sides have exchanged ideas, and the Senior Official of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has welcomed the ambassador and his accompanying delegation and told them that Iraq is their second country.

Among the discussed issues the opening of joint horizons for cooperation and academic and investment work between Iraq and India, in addition to the medical side, by working together to facilitate all that ease the ways for this cooperation, such as the visa matter. Emphasizing on the importance of the continuation of the joint work between al-Kafeel Specialist Hospital and the Indian doctors, in addition to providing the al-'Ameed University with competent medical professionals to work as teachers with their Iraqi peers.

The Indian Ambassador began his speech by congratulating the Iraqi people on the occasion of the great victories against the terrorist ISIL gangs, noting that since he assumed his duties in Baghdad, he was thinking to visit the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and thank it for its important services provided for the visitors from all corners of the globe including the visitor from India.

He added: "I am very pleased and amazed at what I see in this holy place. We read in the books a lot about these shrines and thank God we could come to visit it. We have many shrines in India but the services provided here are beyond imagination."

At the end of the meeting, the two parties stressed the importance of sustaining the existing cooperation in all fields that benefit the two countries and the need to invest it in the optimum way, pointing out the benefit of the successful experiences in the two countries, then the shield of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine was presented to the Indian ambassador.
