The first of Dhu Al-Hijjah: The marriage anniversary of the two lights

History is full with a variety of special historical events related to the Holy Prophet (prayers and Allah's peace be upon him and his holy Household), which are incumbent on us to commemorate, especially that sultans' preachers counted as historians tried to mislead and attempted to hide and underestimate these events and either by hate or envy. In the first day of the holy month of Dhu Al-Hijjah in the second year of Hijra, the Seal of Prophets and Messengers (prayers and Allah's peace be upon him and his holy Household) married his daughter the Mistress of the worlds' women Lady Fatima Az-Zahra to the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon both of them).

Imam As-Sadeq (peace be upon him) said: "If God hadn't created the Commander of the Faithful for Fatima (peace be upon both of them), nobody would have been dignified or worthy enough for her on earth from human or other creatures."

When the Immaculate venerable pure Fatima Az-Zahra (peace be upon her) reached nine years old, the nobles and leaders of tribes and wealthy nobles from all parts of Madina asked for her hand for marriage, and even some of the hypocrites dared to propose without shame.

It was narrated by Khabbab Ibn Al-Art that: The Almighty God revealed to Gabriel: Marry the light [noor] from the light, and the guardian [al-waliy] was Allah, [Al-Khateeb] ie the one preaching is Gabriel, the caller is Mikael, the inviter is Israphel, the thrower [of flowers and precious stones] is Azrael and the witnesses are the angels of the heavens and earths, then God revealed to the tree of Tuba to scatter what you have, and it sprinkled white gems, red rubies, green chrysolites and fresh pearls. And when it was the wedding night, the prophet brought his versicolor mule and covered it then told Fatima to mount it, and order Salman to lead it while the prophet (prayers and Allah's peace be upon him and his holy Household) rode it. They were in their way when the prophet (prayers and Allah's peace be upon him and his holy Household) heard a crowing, it was Gabriel accompanied with seventy thousand angels, and Mikael with seventy thousand angels, the holy prophet (prayers and Allah's peace be upon him and his holy Household) asked them: "What made you descend to earth?" They said: "We came to wed Fatima to Ali Ibn Abi Taleb, so Gabriel said Allahu Akbar and so did Mikael, the Angels and the Holy prophet (prayers and Allah's peace be upon him and his holy Household), and since then that night, takbeer for brides became Sunna.

Then the Messenger of Allah (prayers and Allah's peace be upon him and his holy Household) called Saint Az-Zahra to the Masjid, and put her hand in the hand of the Imam (peace be upon him) and told him: "May God give you blessings in the daughter of the Messenger of Allah." and then he (prayers and Allah's peace be upon him and his holy Household) told Imam Ali (peace be upon him): This is my entrustment [wadi'ah] and prayed for them and their children and then said: "Welcome to two seas that are meeting and two stars that are combining."

Then when the Prophet (prayers and Allah's peace be upon him and his holy Household) was leaving their house and while closing their door he said: "May Allah purify both of you and your progeny, peace at the one who is at peace with you and I am at war with the one who makes war on you, and I entrust both of you to God..."

The fruits of this blessed and divine marriage is five children, who are the two infallible Imams our masters Imam Al-Mujtaba and the Master of martyrs Abu Abdillah Al-Hussayn (peace be upon both of them), and two girls that are Lady Zaynab and Lady Umm Kulthum (peace be upon both of them), all were born in the life of the Holy Prophet (prayers and Allah's peace be upon him and his holy Household) during nine years, and the last of their children was Al-Muhassen (peace be upon him) who were martyred few days after the martyrdom of the Messenger of Allah (prayers and Allah's peace be upon him and his holy Household) due to hitting, beating and squeezing Lady Fatima (peace be upon her) between the door and the wall by the hypocrites and oppressors, while she was pregnant of Al-Muhassen (peace be upon him) and few days after she (peace be upon her) died as martyr, succumbing to all kinds of oppression she had to face, after having lived nine years and (75 or 95 days) in the house of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him).
