Relief Committee of the Office of His Eminence Sayed al-Sistani distributes the Eid food basket to the displaced families to Tikrit.

As part of its ongoing program to support displaced families and to stand by their side and to share their joy on the occasion of Eid al-Asha, and after they were stranded, the relief committee of the office of His Eminence Sayed al-Sistani has distributed Eid food basket provided by al-'Ain Foundation for Social Welfare to a number of families displaced in Tikrit, Salah ad-Din Province.

According to Sayed Shahid al-Mussawi, head of the Committee: "The distribution came after a census of these families, especially those with very difficult living conditions. There was 2500 distributed food basket of various foodstuffs, including families living in the abandoned buildings, old or burnt garages and abandoned shops, and most of them are of destitute families."

And he stressed: "The joy of these families was indescribable and was clear in their thanks and gratitude words to the supreme religious authority, which is not the first initiative. One of the heads of these families has stated that whenever they pass very difficult moments, they come with help, and this is the fourth time we see you coming to us distributing the held in the city of Tikrit. So thank you from all our heart."

It is worth mentioning that the convoys of aid continue to work within a timetable and a pre-prepared location, whether for displaced camps or liberated cities in order to alleviate the burden of these families and to inform them that the supreme religious authority is a safe haven for all Iraqis regardless of their sects and backgrounds, and to remove the misty image drawn by enemies to it.

It is to note that the conditions experienced by these families are very harsh, especially with high temperatures and the inconvenience of the place where they live, because the compounds are not fully qualified in terms of services, noting that the numbers are increasing daily and need more efforts.
