Coinciding with the blessed Eid al-Ghadir and the al-Mubahala day, the Department of the Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine opened a permanent book exhibition in the al-Zubayr district in the province of Basra to be one of its intellectual and cultural activities.
The opening ceremony of this exhibition was attended by a large gathering led by the representative of the supreme religious authority in the province of Basra; Sheikh Mohamad Falak, who has praised this step of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, as it represents one of the intellectual and cultural communication links between the people of al-Zubayr and the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, calling at the same time the people to benefit from this exhibition.
Sayed 'Aqeel al-Yasiri, Deputy Head of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs Department at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine stated: "This exhibition is one of the many exhibitions that the department has opened in Karbala and outside the city, as our productions are acceptable because they satisfy the tastes of all age groups and orientations, thanks to their subjects, modernism and the simplicity, using an interesting and realistic way."
And he added: "The exhibition was opened in cooperation with the Service Body of al-Dhabih in al-Zubayr district, specifically in the district of al-Kut adjacent to the al-Zubayr Middle School, a place where it is easily accessible and displaying a number of publications with various religious and academic orientations, and others dedicated to biography, jurisprudence and morals dedicated to the youth, as well as displaying works of art from pictures and drawings of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) and precious stones and others."
The people of the district and the nearby areas have praised this initiative of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, which aims to encourage reading and showing its role in the development of the mind and the advancement of society in order to reach a conscious and educated immune society to all conspiracies against it.
