In pictures: The condolences processions recall the heroic position of Muslim Ibn 'Aqeel (peace be upon him).

On the eve of the fourth day of the holy month of Muharram, the condolences processions recalled at the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) the heroic position of the Imam al-Hussayn's (p) ambassador; The martyr Muslim Ibn 'Aqeel (peace be upon him), his resistance against the Umayyad tyrants and his martyrdom of the ninth of Dhu al-Hijjah of the year 60 AH.

As although his martyrdom was on the ninth of Dhu al-Hijjah, but the Ashura tradition is to dedicate this day to commemorate his martyrdom and to recall this great personality as a sign of loyalty to him, as he (peace be upon him) has sacrificed himself for the sake of Allah's religion and in support of Allah's Waliy, and thus he was the first martyr of the revolution of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him). And when his martyrdom news reached Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), he cried saying: "May Allah have mercy on Muslim, he joined the spirit of Allah, His Raihanah, His Tahiyah and His Redhwan, he performed his duty and remains our duty.

It is noteworthy that the holy month of Muharram includes many rites and rituals that embody the sad tragedy of Imam al-Hussayn and his family (peace be upon him), including: allocating the first days and nights of the holy month of Muharram and naming them after the names of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and the great symbols of the timeless incident of At-Taf from the companions of the Imam (peace be upon them), who gave their lives for the sake of Allah and in support to Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him). Every day is dedicated to a personality or specific event to highlight its specificity in the tragedy of at-Taf, although the Imam and all his family and companions were killed on the tenth of Muharram.
