Students' processions renew their covenant and condolences to Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him).

Under the slogan "Imam al-Hussayn unify us", the professors and students of Iraqi universities have renewed their covenant and condolences to the Master of the free ones; Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) on his martyrdom anniversary, as on Thursday morning 20th of Muharram 1439 AH corresponding to the October 12, 2017, more than 4000 students and 500 teachers were organized in the form of groups in a unified condolences' procession, each group was bearing a name of the supporters of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon them), led by those carrying the Iraqi flag and the black banners.

The procession launched from the Qibla street of al-Abbas (Peace be upon him) entering to his holy shrine then passing by the area between the two holy shrines up to the shrine of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), where a condolences Majlis was held. During their march, these processions confirmed through their slogans adhering to the path of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) and the application of his principles.

For his part, the Director of the Center for Activities at the Wasit University; Professor Mohamed Hamza al-Rabi'i, stated: "As usual, we walked today in a unified condolences procession including all universities and institutes of Iraq from all sects and religious backgrounds, all met under the banner of reform brought by Imam al-Hussayn (Peace be upon him). Through these procession we want to send a message to the world that the Iraqis are united and refuse any division as students and professors represent the educated and cultured class in this society, and through this demonstration, they all announce and pledge Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) to follow their path and to be the bearers of the sublime message to the whole world."
