The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine on the throne of the Third International Hussayni Condolence Theater Festival

The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, represented by the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs was crowned with the prizes of the Third International al-Hussayni Condolence Theater Festival, which was held under the patronage of Baghdad province in collaboration with the Department of Cinema and Theater, under the slogan "If Baghdad is the capital of the world, Karbala is then the capital of this world and of the hereafter", by winning two prizes, the first is in the competition of theatrical text of the contemporary Hussayni theater, and the second is for the best screenplay films as well as the shield of creativity to the al-Kafeel Scout group, and an appreciation certificate to one of the employees of the mentioned department working in the Hussayni theater.

The contest of the Hussayni play text resulted the winning of the official of the media Division in the Department of the Intellectual and Cultural Affairs; Mr. Ali al-Khabbaz, the second prize for the play "Visions' Museum", which is a modern theater play that speaks about many aspects of the issue of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) using the art of black comedy. The text is a dialogue woven by the imagination of the author making the statues in the museum killing Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), including Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the terrorist ISIL, framing the dialogue using a modern technical framework linking the past and the present through the tragedy of Karbala.

The second prize, which was won by the same person, was in the best screenplay competition for the film "Ommahat al-Baneen [mothers of Boys]" and won the third prize. The scenario of this film revolves around a woman who lost four of her children in the battles to liberate the usurped land of Iraq, linking the situation to Om al-Baneen (peace be upon her) and the women in the family of Imam al-Hussayn and his companions (peace be upon them), and how they gave the sons as a redemption to Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) in the tragedy of Karbala.

On the other hand, the committee supervising this festival, honored the al-Kafeel youth group from the Department of childhood and youth at the department of the intellectual and cultural affairs by the creativity shield. In addition to honoring Karrar al-Safi; one of the employees of the department, by an appreciation certificate for his skilled performance of the artistic works of the Hussayni theater.
