Under the patronage of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine: Al-Sujud Cultural Foundation holds its annual festival and honors the winners of the Ashura contest.

Within the series of festivals held under the auspices of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine inside and outside the province of Karbala, is the annual Cultural Hussayni al-Taf Festival held for the fourth year in row by the al-Sujud Cultural Foundation in Baghdad province, under the slogan "al-Hussayn gather us" on Saturday 7th Safar 1439 AH corresponding to October 28, 2017 in the hall of Youth Forum Hay Nasr in Baghdad with the presence of religious and cultural figures.

After reciting verses from the Holy Quran and Surat al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs of Iraq, and listening to the national anthem. Dr. Ammar al-Rubay'i, the Public Relations Officer of the Foundation, gave a speech in which he said: "This festival will include honoring the winners of the Ashura Cultural Competition held by the Foundation, as a number of questions were asked about the uprising of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), and hundreds of men and women competed in the competition from different parts of Baghdad. The purpose of this competition is to promote the Ashura culture and enrich the knowledge of the followers of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), speaking about various historical, life and scientific aspects of the tragedy and shed light on its goals and its reflections on the contemporary reality of life of the Muslim."

Followed by the General Secretariat of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine delivered by Sayed Taqi al-Hussayni, who explained: ""al-Hussayn brings us together" is a successful title and carries many meanings and lessons that call to the importance and necessity of its practical application through investing the eternal al-Taf upraising on the ground, especially in the current situation of Iraq."

He stressed on the need to pay attention to moral and ideological issues and work on their development and refinement because they are very important and are needed in the person's life, as the belief and ethics are basic for the steadfastness of the person on the right path and keep him from loss."

He has also praised the efforts made by the staff and employees of al-Sujud Foundation from activities and works that has a clear imprint in supporting the community and caring for the orphans."

The deputy head of the Shiite Endowment Bureau, sheikh Dr Ammar al-Rabi'i has stated in his word: "We thank the al-Sujud Foundation for its efforts and important role in contributing to addressing some of the society problems and caring for orphans. And this is a humanitarian and ethical duty especially that this foundation is helping the martyrs' families, taking example from Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them). And it is a good step to organize religious cultural competitions from time to time because it urges the community to make research and seek knowledge."

The opening festival of this festival included also displaying a video film about the Foundation's activities and events in addition to the suffering of the Iraqi citizens from terrorism, displacement and bloody wars. The film shed light on the heroism of the popular mobilization factions and their role in preserving the Iraqi dignity. The film has also spoke about the extent of dedication of some visitors in order to perform the Ziyarat Arba'een.

The ceremony ended with the honoring of the Hussayni processions in that region in cooperation with the Hussayni processions body in it. In addition to the distribution of the prizes to the first winners of the Ashura Competition, which was set up by the Foundation. The prize was a Quran and a sum of money in addition to the Ziyarat of the holy shrine at the expense of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine as well as conducting a draw for the winners during the Ziyarat Karbala, to choose three from them to perform the Ziyarat of Imam ar-Redha (peace be upon him) and the sacred sanctuaries in Iraq also at the expense of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine.
