The Supreme Religious Authority is calling for a water policy to reduce water scarcity in Iraq and calls for the promotion of peaceful coexistence and the return of displaced people and reconstruction of their areas.

The Supreme Religious Authority called on the competent authorities to develop a water policy to reduce water scarcity in Iraq and called for the serious thinking and striving to maintain the cohesion of all the components of society and strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and love and to promote the culture of peaceful coexistence, as well as to work hard to return the displaced people to their areas and its reconstruction and providing them with a decent life by facilitating the difficulties they face.

These were the important points stated in the second sermon of Friday prayer of the 5th of Rabi' Awwal 1439 AH corresponding to the November 24, 2017, held in the holy shrine of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) and led by His Eminence Sayed Ahmad al-Safi, in which he stated the following two points:

First point:

It is necessary to preserve the wealth of the country, and it is no secret that God favored our country on many other countries with many blessings and wealth, and the most important of these wealth is the wealth of water.

The importance of this wealth is known in all areas of life, so it was necessary for those working on this wealth -planning and study- to give this mater great importance, as we periodically receive alarming information about the state of water in the country.

And there are real threats to the agricultural land and animal wealth in some areas, as well as lack of drinking water in some areas. Therefore, it is a must to develop a clear water policy in the size of the problem, which is adopted by the State either in matters of plans to maintain the amount of water throughout the country or in matters of storage and the proliferation of means to maintain reasonable levels of water, and finding solutions to the issue of wasting and misusing this wealth, as it is the responsibility of all institutions and individuals, so it is imperative that everyone take this issue seriously.

Second point:

After that the country is about to recuperate from the ISIL terrorism by the grace of Allah and with the sacrifice and courage of the dear fighters in all their ranks. We ask God to establish security and safety throughout the country. We must seriously think and strive to maintain the cohesion of all the components of society and strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and love and to promote the culture of peaceful coexistence, as it is the responsibility of everyone.

On the other hand, it is necessary to work hard to return the displaced people to their areas and to reconstruct it in a way that provides them with a decent life by facilitating the difficulties they face.
