The al-Abbas's (p) Fighting Squad holds a ceremony to mark the victory of Iraq.

The Fighting Squad of Al-Abbas (Peace be upon him) held a ceremony in celebration of the great victory of Iraq against the terrorist ISIL gangs and the liberation of the entire soil of the homeland from this profanity. A victory that was achieved by the courageous Iraqis. The celebration was held on Thursday, 2nd of Rabi' Thani 1439 AH corresponding to the December 21, 2017 in the hall of teachers' syndicate in Karbala, in the presence of dignitaries and delegations representing several quarters from inside and outside the province as well as representatives from the brigades of the popular mobilization.

After reading the Surat Al-Fatihah in honor of the martyrs of Iraq, there was a word of the supervisor of the al-Abbas's (p) fighting squad; Sheikh Maitham Al-Zaidi, which started it by presenting his congratulations to the supreme religious authority in Najaf, the Iraqi people, the security forces and the popular mobilization on the occasion of achieving this great victory, recalling the martyrs as they have drew with their pure blood the merits of this victory. "

Adding: "Iraq won this historical and great battle that represented a great challenge, but the Iraqi people were able to break this bet and defeated the ISIL enemy, which targeted humanity, civilization and history, and targeted all components and specters of the Iraqi people. The victory was achieved thanks to its response to the call of the supreme religious authority in the advisory opinion of the defense and the protection of the soil of this homeland and its sanctities, which its utmost goal was belonging to it and the preservation of its unity, and this was the approach and the path that was drawn by the religious authority and followed by the al-Abbas's (p) fighting squad and the rest of the forces of the popular mobilization factions".

He explained: "In order to recall this epic in which the Sons of Iraq have defeated the ISIL terrorism and in order to contribute to the preservation of the Jihad history of the Abbas's (p) fighting squad in this battle and work on archiving it in artistic and media methods, including theatrical activities that send messages of high content to recall these heroes and their sacrifices."

After that, the al-Abbas's (p) fighting squad was honored by the shield of the Teachers' syndicate in the holy city of Karbala, handed to Sheikh Maitham al-Zaidi by the assistant director of the teachers' syndicate, Mr. Redha al-Gar'awi.

After that, a theater work was presented by the Iraqi Theater Federation, titled "Hayya 'ala al-Watan" by Ahmad Hatif and directed and played by As'ad Mashay.

The 40-minute monodrama, which created a great interaction among the audience, deals with the stories of five characters from the recent events in Iraq. There is the character of the young Christian who lost his girlfriend in Mosul and decided to fight terrorism. There is the character of the young man who survived the Speicher massacre and tells his story. There is also the humanitarian aspects such as the woman who helped him, and there is the character of the young man who wants to join the forces of the popular mobilization, but has a position from what happened during 12 years after losing all his guarantees as an Iraqi citizen, making him reluctant to go or not, then his mother provoked him and made him decide to join the al-Abbas's (p) fighting squad. And there is also the character of the martyr (Mustafa al-'Athari), who was executed by the terrorist ISIL gangs.

In conclusion, the 9th Armored Division of the Iraqi army, which fought alongside the al-Abbas's (p) Fighting Squad in most of the battles it waged, was honored.
