The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine adorns the streets of Karbala with guiding plates to the Qibla direction.

Within the framework of the awareness and educational project sought by the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine in order to provide the society with the culture of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and the basic principle of the eternal Hussayni renaissance, the unit of construction equipment in the engineering maintenance department of the General Secretariat of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine completed a project of installing guiding plates indicating the Qibla direction In the main streets of the holy province of Karbala.

The technical staff of the unit installed in cooperation with the Department of Religious Affairs at the Holy Shrine 25 guiding plates from the Askan area to the Husseiniya road and Maytham Al-Tammar street.

This project comes within the framework of the plan set by the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine to guide the visitor to the shrines of Sayyid al-Shuhadaa [the master of martyrs] Imam al-Hussayn and of his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them), either during the ordinary days or in the occasions and the Ziyarat of millions. These plates were designed in the form of a large and clear arrow in which the expression "The direction of the Qibla" was written then fixing them on the lights' pillars in the main streets to help the arrivals to the city of Karbala to know the direction of the Qibla and the performance of prayers on time.
