In its 14th edition: The preparatory committee for the Festival of Martyrdom's Spring, began its meetings and takes the great victory of Iraq as a slogan of this edition.

The Permanent Preparatory Committee for the International Cultural Festival of Martyrdom's Spring started holding meetings on the establishment of its 14th edition, which will be held by the General Secretaries of the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and of al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them), planned to coincide with the birth of the Mohammadian lights of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) in the coming month of Sha’ban, starting from the third to the seventh of the same month.

Sayed 'Aqil al-Yasiri, assistant head of the intellectual and cultural affairs department of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and a member of the preparatory committee of the festival, stated: "The Martyrdom's Spring Festival is one of the most important festivals organized and sponsored by the General Secretaries of the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and of al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them), and in order to preserve the achieved good results in the previous sessions and organizing a distinctive edition, the preparatory committee of the festival began the series of meetings, which will be periodic, one meeting every week; in order to see what is achieved, and the pace of these meetings will intensify until the day of its establishment, as this festival has become a global cultural festival which echo has reached all around the globe. "

He added that: "The 14th edition of this festival is exceptional because of the victory of Iraq over the terrorist gangs of ISIL, and the preparatory committee has chosen the slogan of "By al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) we make revolution and by the fatwa we are victorious." The sub-committees were designed from the central committee and the tasks and duties were distributed in order to make the festival's activities at the level of its cultural and intellectual activities, making them more valuable and useful to suit the value and position of this occasion on the one hand, and the status and value of the two holy shrines on the other hand."

It is worth mentioning that the International Cultural Festival of the Martyrdom's Spring is organized by the General Secretaries of the Holy Shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and of al-Abbas (peace be upon them) annually to celebrate the birth anniversaries of lights of the Saint Prophet's Household (Peace be upon them),the grandson of our saint Prophet (Prayers and Allah's peace be upon him and his holy Household) Imam Aba Abdillah Al-Hussayn, his brother Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas and Imam Ali As-Sajjad (peace be upon them). This festival is one of the religious and cultural events held by the two holy shrines in order to educate the community and to increase its intellectual and religious consciousness, to demonstrate the effects and results of the great righteous revolution of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) after 14 centuries giving the humanity the freedom of thought facing the injustice, defeating the falsehood no matter its origins and establishing the truth.
