The University of al-Mustansiriya puts the film "Lady of Quraish" on the table of criticism within the film seminar held at its College of Arts.

As part of its cultural curriculum prepared for this year, the Faculty of Arts at al-Mustansiriya University held a film seminar in cooperation with the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine on Wednesday, 22nd Rabi' Thani 1439 AH corresponding to January 10, 2018, in the halls for conferences and seminars at the College of Arts, including displaying the cinema film "Lady of Quraish" produced by the al-Kafeel center for artistic production in the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and directed by Mr. Azhar Khamis. The film is about the biography of lady Khadija (peace be upon her).

On the sidelines of displaying the film, three dialogue axes were tackled on three important topics: the anthropological dimension, the historical dimension and the media dimension, which were presented by Prof. Dr. Jaafar Najm Nasr, professor of the Faculty of Arts, Department of Anthropology, and Dr. Hanan Redha al-Ka'bi, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Arts - History Department -, She spoke about the historical visions and the role of the camera in recording the history. And Dr. Adel Hashim, a lecturer in the Faculty of Arts specializing in journalism, who talked about the media aspects in the film. As the contents of the film and its most important artistic and belief visions were highlighted in order to discuss the dimensions of the film artistically, historically, ideologically and socially.

Dean of the Faculty of Arts Assistant Professor Dr. Farida Jassim explained the importance of these seminars and their positive impact on the cultural reality, saying: "The main purpose of this seminar is that students are in contact with the cultural, media and scientific achievements of the holy shrines, especially of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, and that the true success of any institution at the present time is its openness to all institutions in the community and this is what is done in our college, and what is presented from the cultural production of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine is distinct in all dimensions, both in terms of content and in terms of external dimension.

She added: "We aspire to the continuation and sustainability of these meetings and build bridges with all the shrines because our success lies in cooperation with these religious institutions."

After that, the discussions were opened to the teachers and students. At the end of the seminar the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine was honored as well as the film director Azhar Khamis for his exerted efforts.
