The two holy shrines of Imam Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) witness a great influx of visitors every eve of Friday. This is a familiar custom for devotees and followers of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), because of the reward of performing Ziyarat in this holy place especially on this day, which was stated in many narrations.

This Thursday coincided with the spring break, which led to a doubling of visitor numbers, especially in the sunny and mild climate. They were able to come with their families to perform the Ziyarat of the holy shrines aspiring the spiritual atmosphere with ease.

The visitors were not only Iraqis, but there was an influx of visitors from outside Iraq from Arab and Islamic countries, and the servants of the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and of al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) have harnessed their energies and efforts in order to help them visitors overcome all the difficulties they might face, organize their movement so they can perform their worship rituals. On the roads and alleys leading to the two holy shrines, processions were installed in order to provide them with services.

It is noteworthy that many narrations have urged the importance of the Ziyarat of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), including the narration from Abdullah al-Tahan narrating from Imam as-Sadeq (peace be upon him) said: "No one on the Day of Resurrection, but he wishes that he is from the visitors of al-Hussayn, because he sees the dignified position of the visitors of al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) given to them by the Almighty Allah."
