The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine announces its intention to hold the Sixth Cultural Festival of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him).

The General Secretariat of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine announced its intention to hold the Sixth Cultural Festival of the commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) in its sixth edition under the slogan "The Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) the first of Worshippers and the most pious of all" in the city of Kargil in the north of India, in its Hawza Ithna 'Ashariyah for the period 13th to18th Rajab 1439 AH, in order to commemorate the birth anniversary of the dragonfly of religion and the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him), and it is hoped that each of the holy shrines of Imam Ali, Imam al-Hussayn, Imam al-Kadhem and Imam al-Jawad, as well as of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them all); the organizing body of the festival.

According to the Preparatory Committee for International Cultural Activities, the festival will include a number of religious activities that will revolve around the personality of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him), commensurate with the series of successes achieved by the festival in its previous five sessions. And the city of Kargil is one of its stations which will expand in the future to reach most of the Indian cities in order to expand the outreach to all lovers and followers of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) across India, so that this festival be a window through which devotees and lovers get closer to the holy shrines in Iraq.

The Committee added that: "A special curriculum was put in place for the revival of the days and nights of this festival, where there will be a book fair with the participation of the holy shrines of Iraq and the establishment of a Quranic evenings revived by a group of international readers of the holy Quran in the holy shrine in addition to field visits to Hussayniyat, mosques, orphanages and prominent religious figures. And the establishment of a religious competition sponsored by the holy shrine as the winners will get the prize of the Ziyarat of the holy shrines of Iraq, in addition to the opening and closing events, which will include several sections such as words, reading poetry, religious stanzas (muwashshahat) and others, as well as holding the rituals of raising the flag of the dome of Aba al Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) in the city (Lehildar) 205 km away from the Kargil city.

It is to note that the Cultural Festival of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) is held for the veneration of Ahl Al-Bayt's (Peace be upon them) rituals, in order to spread their culture, their approach and their biographies that teach the world the true meaning of Islam, and to confirm the great role of the Iraqi holy sites in general and of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine in particular, by the establishment and sponsorship of festivals, seminars and conferences inside and outside the country, showing how they became in record time a guidance beacon for all and a brilliant model at all levels.
