The Department of Education and Higher Education holds the second comprehensive art exhibition for Arabic calligraphy and plastic arts for al-'Ameed Educational Group schools.

Within the celebrations of the auspicious birth anniversary of Lady Fatima az-Zahra (peace be upon her), the Department of Education and Higher Education in the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine held, under the supervision of the Council of Art Education and Islamic Decoration, the second comprehensive art exhibition for Arabic calligraphy and plastic arts for al-'Ameed Educational Schools Group.

The exhibition was held in the al-Kaf [palm] basement in the holy shrine on Saturday 28th of Jumada Thaniya 1439 AH, corresponding to March 17, 2018, in the presence of Mr. Adnan al-Mousawi and Eng. Ja'far Sa'id; members of the Board of Directors at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, Prof. Dr. Abbas al-Dadah; head of the Department of Education and Higher Education, Mr. Mushtaq al-'Ali, Dr. Jassem al-Ibrahimi and Mr. Majed al-Rabi'i; his educational and administrative assistants, and the Director General of the Education Department at Karbala province; Mr. Abbas 'Awdah.

Engineer Ja'far Sa'id Ja'far; member of the Board of Directors of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, expressed his thanks for the continuation of the art exhibitions in the Department of Education and Higher Education, hoping that the project of teaching Arabic calligraphy for the students of the al-'Ameed Schools will be a nucleus for the creativity in this art.

As for the head of the Council of Art Education, Arabic Calligraphy and Islamic Decoration; Dr. Maysaa al-Khafaji, has stated that the exhibition is at three levels: The first is allocated to the supervisors of the educational cooperative, the second level is for the educational staff in the group's schools, and the third is for the students." Adding that the aim of the exhibition is to develop the creativity and to enhance the innovation of the students, as well as to refine and develop the skills of the educational staff."

"The exhibition was divided into five pavilions:

1- A pavilion for Arabic calligraphy and Islamic decoration,

2- A pavilion for plastic arts,

3- A pavilion for pottery.

4- A pavilion for handicrafts.

5- A pavilion for the works of the project of teaching the Arabic calligraphy in the Schools Group." stated by Mr. Abd al-Karim al-Shumari; Supervisor of the artistic education at the educational cooperative, adding: "The exhibition included more than 300 art works."
