A medical team from AlKafeel Hospital succeeds in removing a tumor that foreign hospitals have failed to remove.

Another success was added to the series of successes of the Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, as a medical team managed with a complex surgery to remove a cluster tumor in the head of the girl Zahra from the province of Dhi Qar, and this surgery is complex and dangerous due to overlap of the tumor with the arteries and nerves of the brain.

Head of the medical team and neurosurgery specialist Dr. Ali King explained that his medical team succeeded in removing a cluster tumor from the head of a 12-year-old girl with surgery that lasted more than ten continuous hours. This tumor is frequently formed in the head of this child due to a hereditary disease that she has since she was three years old.

He added: "Seven surgeries was conducted to this child in foreign hospitals, for of them were in Italy to remove the tumor from the head of the child, but it was formed again in a cluster form, causing her many problems, as the tumor is spread widely inside and outside the brain and the left eye quarry, pushing her eye from its place and causing distortion of her face. In the previous operations, the tumor was not removed completely because it is located in a dangerous area very close to the main nerves and arteries of the brain."

He continued: "The Turkish eye surgeon, Dr. Adnan Agsoi, also participated in this surgery to put her eye back to its place and performed a cosmetic surgery immediately after we removed the tumor. And all praise to God, the tumor is not malignant and the health status of the patient is stable now."
