The Holy Shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and of al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) honor the families of martyrs of the military media.

The Holy Shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and of al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) have organized a ceremony honoring the families of martyrs of the military media who sacrificed themselves to convey the true image of the battles of glory and honor and the great victories achieved by the Iraqi security forces and the popular mobilization in liberating the land of Iraq from the desecration of the terrorist ISIL gangs.

The celebration that was held within the framework of the 14th World Cultural Festival of the Martyrdom's Spring, took place in the Hall of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him) in the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine on Tuesday morning the 7th of Sha'ban 1439 AH corresponding to the April 24, 2018, with the attendance of its Secretary-General; Eng. Mohamad al-Ashigar and a delegation representing the Imam al-Hussayn's (p) holy shrine, in addition to the families of the honored martyrs.

The ceremony began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and reading Surat Al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs of Iraq, who responded to the call of the nation and the supreme religious authority in defending the soil of this homeland and its sanctities.

Then there was a speech by the General Secretaries of the two holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and of al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them), delivered Sayed. Adnan al-Mosawi, in which he stated: "In fact we must show reverence and glory for all the martyrs who shed their blood and sacrificed their lives so we can live in dignity. And today, we pay tribute especially to the martyrs of the military media here in the holy shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), from whom we draw strength, determination, pride, courage and valor, as we celebrate his auspicious birth anniversary. "

"Media has an important role to play. And I am speaking here about the media that is saying the truth, not the negative media that deceives people not to mention facts as they are. Media is the right carrier of the right news that can save an entire nation." He added.

Indicating: "Sometimes telling the truth can lead to death. But despite this fact, there is a group of honest and sincere media, like the heroes of the security forces and the fighters of the popular mobilization, who had a share in sacrificing themselves and their souls in order to convey the facts and heroic positions. Therefore, we honor them today."

At the end of this ceremony, which included a poem by the poet Zine El Abidine, the families of the martyrs were honored, by the Secretary-General of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and a number of officials of the two holy shrines.

Member of the Preparatory Committee for the Festival of Martyrdom's Spring Sayed. ‘Aqeel Abdul-Hussein Al-Yasiri explained: "This honoring ceremony is one of the activities that have been added to this edition of the festival, which is the least that can be provided to the families of the martyrs of the media, in appreciation of their positions in the defense of the land and sanctities of the homeland and the transfer of truth and refutation of false and shady news, as the military media had a heroic role in the epic liberation of the land of Iraq from the terrorist ISIL gangs, and their heroic role came in various ways to broadcast the movements and victories of the security forces and the popular mobilization, who draw with their blood the path of Freedom and Victory ".
