The eleventh of Sha'ban birth anniversary of Ali Akbar (peace be upon him).

On the eleventh of the great month of Sha'ban, the holy Alawi house was delighted by the birth of one of the Hashemi moons; Ali Al-Akbar (peace be upon him), who has embodied the Islam's will and sacrifices, as his sacrifice in the Taf tragedy in Karbala was for the sake of Islam and the principles of the Master of martyrs; Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him). Al-Akbar is Ali son of Al-Hussayn son of Ali Ibn Abi Taleb (peace be upon all of them). His title: Abu Al-Hassan, and his mother is Layla daughter of Abi 'arwa son of Mas'ud Al-Thaqafi.

He (peace be upon him) was born in the house of the perfect faith and piety, and his status is great as stated by Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them). In Karbala the day of Ashura, while sending Ali Al-Akbar to the battlefield, Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) raised his hands and said: "O Lord! Bear witness on those people for he who emerged to them is bearing a strong likeness to Your Prophet in all departments - resemblance of disposition, complexion, and logic. Hence we look at him when we crave to see Your Apostle. O Lord! Deprive them of the riches of the land, divide them, rend them asunder and turn them into smithereens. Never make the rulers be happy with them, for they sent for us so that they may support us but transgressed against us and killed us." He then recited Allah's words, "Surely, Allah chose Adam and Nuh and the descendants of Ibrahim and the descendants of Imran above the nations, offspring, one of the other, and Allah is Hearing Knowing".

And in the holy Ziyarat, Imam As-Sadeq (peace be upon him) speaking with Ali Akbar, saying: "(May I ransom you) with my father and mother, you are a slaughtered and murdered without a crime."

In looks, in voice, in mannerism, in gait and in every way, Ali Al-Akbar (peace be upon him) resembled the Seal of Prophets Mohammad (Allah's prayers be upon him and his holy Household) that the Chief of Martyrs and Leader of the Youths of Paradise Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) was often heard to say “Whenever I desire to see the holy Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and his holy Household) I look at him.”

His handsome looks were matched by his handsome deeds. He was known with his asceticism and worship, his nobility of character, his sense of duty, his generosity, his chivalry, his geniality, his love of justice and fair play had endeared him to every soul. He was also a brave soldier. He had been taught fencing and archery by Al-Abbas (peace be upon him).

He was martyred with his father Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) in Karbala, and was buried in a tomb connected to that of his father. It is desirable to perform his Ziyarat when standing at the side of the feet of the Imam (peace be upon him) saying: "Peace be upon you, O son of the Apostle of Allah. Peace be upon you, O son of the Prophet of Allah. Peace be upon you, O son of Amiral-Mu’mineen (the Commander of the faithful). Peace be upon you, O son of Fatima, the chief of the women of the universe. Peace be upon you, O son of Al-Hussayn, the martyr. Peace be upon you, O the martyr and the son of the martyr. Peace be upon you, O the oppressed and son of the oppressed one. Curse of Allah be on those who killed you, Curse of Allah be on those who oppressed you. Curse of Allah be on those who heard about it and agreed to it..."

Thus, Peace be upon him the day he was born, the day he was martyred and the day he will be sent alive!
