An important historical intellectual competition established by the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine in its pavilion in the Tehran International Book Fair

Under the tyranny of the Abbasid rule, which lasted in Iraq for 534 years, history was falsified and facts were distorted by erasing the honorable role of the Iraqis in the immortal epic of Al-Taf, as most of them were banned from joining the Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) as it was stated in the narration of Imam as-Sadeq (peace be upon him):

"Tasu‘a’ (ninth of Muharram) was the day when they had surrounded al-Hussayn, peace be upon him, and his companions, may Allah be pleased with them, in Karbala’. The horsemen of al-Sham [the Levant] had come together against him, peace be upon him, and had taken him under siege. Ibn Marjanah and ‘Umar ibn Sa‘d were happy because of the huge number of horsemen on their side, and they made al-Hussayn, peace be upon him, and his companions, may Allah be pleased with them, very weak. They became certain that no one will come to help al-Hussayn, peace be upon him, and people of Iraq will not support him..." AlKafi V.4, P.147.

So it was incumbent upon the servants of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine to show these facts to others, in support of their Imam (peace be upon him), and that was through a competition prepared by the joint pavilion of the two holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and of al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) in the 31st Tehran International Book Fair, as one of the cultural activities on the side-lines of the exhibition of the various publications of the two holy shrines..

This was indicated by Mr. Jassam Mohammed al-Sa'idi head of the Department of the publications of the Holy Shrine in the pavilion to AlKafeel Global Network, and added: "The competition included questions with regard to the immortal Al-Taf epic, to the life of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them) and the history of the two holy shrines."

Al-Saidi said: "The aim of the competition is to activate the research and intellectual side in the pavilion by advising visitors that the answers to the questions can be found at the two official websites: www.imamhussain.org and www.alkafeel.net or in the websites of the scholars and investigators in historical cases. The pavilion has become a place for the interesting discussion about the questions and answers between its visitors, which delighted the organizers of the fair."

As for the prizes he explained: "A draw will be conducted at the end of the fair for the correct answers after announcing them to the participants, to benefit from the correct answers. The prizes include a silver ring of the work of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine decorated by a marble stone from the marble of the holy sanctuary of our Master Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) as the first prizes, while the second prizes for the rest of the correct answers who were not lucky to win the ring, will get the stone with a piece of cloth of the holy shrine.
