This is the profile of the employees the Unit of transport of people with special needs and the elderly of the Department of Service Affairs at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine who are proud to serve visitors, and this is one of the wonderful and most beautiful images painted by the servants of this holy shrine.

According to the head of this unit Mr. Riad Khudair Hassan, said: "The unit works by two shifts (morning and evening) of seven hours each. It works to transport and assist people with special needs, the elderly and disabled people who are not able to perform the Ziyarat on their own."

He added: "The staff of the unit are deployed on the main entrances leading to the Holy Shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him). They are responsible of the transport of visitors who are in dire need of transportation by wheelchairs from the last station of cars, taxis and busses, to one of the gates of the holy shrine, and often they enter the visitor inside the holy sanctuary up to the holy grid so they may perform their Ziyarat rituals."

He concluded by saying: "There are constant efforts that are being made to develop the work of this unit and provide it with larger numbers of staff in addition to other new and sophisticated wheelchairs."
