In an important step towards protecting innocent children from the dangers of homelessness, and in order to compensate them for their loss of family affection, the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has launched a new project for the care of children without family care. And named the project "[Ruhama'u baynahom] Merciful among themselves".
The launch of the project coincided with the month of Mercy and Forgiveness; the holy month of Ramadhan, to be added to its series of previous humanitarian initiatives.
The project was launched a year ago by a group of young volunteers, aiming to embrace homeless, destitute and beggar children who suffer family persecution and oppression in the holy province of Karbala.
These young volunteers succeeded in their project and were able, with the help of others, to help the children, integrate them into society after they lacked the family and social care, and protect them from social deviation and solve their financial deficiencies.
This led the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine to fully adopt their initiative to sustain its success, and to accommodate as many children in these circumstances as possible.
These children along with the project leaders had a meeting with the senior official of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; Sayed Ahmad al-Safi, to assure them that the holy shrine will provide all that is possible and needed to foster and nurture these children. His eminence has urged them through a guiding word, to stay away from quarrels between friends and focus instead on the brotherhood values between them, and to benefit from the services provided to them so their take care of their studies to be outstanding students.
His Eminence has also thanked the organizers of the project and praised their project, urging them to keep up their work to help this social category using modern and scientific methods.
Ali Jabbar Jawda, one of the supervisors on this project, has explained to Al-Kafeel Network the following: "The project "merciful among themselves" is a project concerned with childhood primarily, especially children, who were forced to work in the streets as street vendors at an early age. And in order to help them we have embraced them and worked to instil confidence in them, which were shaken by the circumstances in which they lived and we had contacts with their families."
He added: "Now the project became under the patronage of the Master Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), and we will work to implement our program according to the correct scientific mechanisms and methods in terms of education, where they will be joining the al-'Ameed schools group in addition to their inclusion in the educational and psychological courses to contribute to raise the level of children and lift them out of the circle in which they live."
It is noteworthy that the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has assigned a committee that will supervise and follow up the work of this project and implement the recommendations and directives that concern it based on a correct scientific education vision.
