The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine holds its annual condolence Majlis for its employees on the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali (peace be upon him).

During these days of the holy month of Ramadhan we commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of the Commander of the Faithful; Imam Ali (peace be upon him), which is considered the greatest tragedy in Islam after the martyrdom of the Holy Prophet Mohammad (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household). The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine has held its annual condolence Majlis to commemorate this sad occasion for Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and their lovers in such days in the year 40 AH.

The condolence Majlis is held every day for three days in the hall of honors inside the holy shrine, including a religious lecture preceded by a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. The lecture is about this tragedy of the wound and martyrdom of the Master of the Pious and the Dragonfly of Religion Imam Ali Ibn Abi Taleb (peace be upon him). This tragedy, which was planned by the most miserable of all; Abd al-Rahman Ibn Muljam al-Muradi (may Allah curse him) with others in Mecca and Kufa, and which he executed in the Great Masjid of Kufa. The lecture is also about various sides of the life of Imam Ali (peace be upon him), the second great personalities after the Chosen Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household).
