The twenty-fourth of the holy month of Ramadhan: Gabriel (peace be upon him) descended with the command of marrying the Commander of the Faithful to Lady az-Zahra (peace be upon both of them).

On the twenty-fourth of the holy month of Ramadhan of the second year for migration, the trustworthy archangel Gabriel (peace be upon him) descended with the news of the marriage of Fatima (peace be upon her) in the sky so that the Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household) marry her on earth to Ali bin Abi Taleb (peace be upon both of them).

Gabriel (peace be upon him) has a special role in the marriage of Lady Fatima (peace be upon her). His appearance on this occasion was repeated until he became involved in this matter. This is due to the consequent making of the imamate in their offspring, as they are divinely chosen ones upon all creation. {Indeed, Allah chose Adam and Noah and the family of Abraham and the family of 'Imran over the worlds - Descendants, some of them from others. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.} (3:33/34).

This repeated appearance of Gabriel (peace be upon him) on this occasion was because they are chosen for the light of prophecy and the path of the realization of the state of truth and justice, and the emergence of Islam on all religion by al-Mahdi son of Fatima (prayers of God be upon them all).

It is narrated from Om Salamah, Salman al-Mohammadi and Imam Ali (peace be upon them all), all of them said that the Holy Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household) said: "Gabriel has descended on me and said: Peace and mercy of Allah be upon you, O prophet of Allah! Then he put in my hand a white cloth of silk of paradise, on which two lines were written in light.

I said, my beloved Gabriel, what is this cloth of silk and what are these lines? Gabriel said: O Mohammad, the Almighty Allah has looked at people of earth and chosen you of his creation and sent you with His message, then he looked again at earth and chosen for you from it a brother, a minister, a companion and a son in law. So marry him your daughter Fatima.

I said: My beloved Gabriel! And who is this man? He told me: O Mohammad, your brother in this world and the hereafter, and your cousin; Ali Ibn Abi Taleb."
