In support of promising projects and for the promotion of scientific talents, the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine launches the best graduation project award for students of medical and engineering colleges.

The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine will conduct a competition to select the best graduation project for students of medical and engineering colleges for the academic year 2017 - 2018 for the stage of preliminary studies for private and government colleges, under the name "The competition of AlKafeel Youth for intellectual creativity for the Iraqi universities students" within the activities of AlKafeel National Youth Project and in collaboration and with the assistance of the universities presidencies and the directorate of research and development in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

According to Mr. Maher Khaled al-Miyahi, head of the University activities Unit at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, the competition is held to contribute in supporting the promising projects and to encourage the talents to be an effective motivation to guide students to the scientific research and innovation, and to establish projects that have a positive impact on the ground. Aiming to:

1 - Highlighting the creative output of medical and engineering students.

  1. Encouraging students, creating a spirit of competition among themselves and presenting their different innovations.

3 - Contributing to the discovery of the skills and talents of students and encourage scientific innovation.

4 - Working on translating the outputs of scientific research into practical research with the possibility of application.

5 - Motivating the rest of the students to move forward to creativity and innovation under the sponsorship of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine.

6- Contributing to the promotion of scientific innovation among students and supporting scientific and applied research for their important graduation projects that contribute to the building of society.

Mr Maher added: "The establishment of this competition has begun not long ago, and we have held several meetings with universities in addition to the research and development Body in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, resulting in the formation of a scientific committee to evaluate projects that will participate to win the competition, which will be held on June 27, 2018 and will last for two days in the hall of the al-'Ameed University of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine."

Indicating: "Three prizes were allocated for the first winners of the competition as follows:

The first winner: (1.500.000) one million five hundred thousand Iraqi dinars with a golden shield.

Second Winner: (1.000.000) one million Iraqi Dinars with Silver Shield.

Third winner: (500,000) five hundred thousand Iraqi dinars with a bronze shield.

In addition, certificates of appreciation and of participation will be delivered to all the participants in the competition."
