Continuing preparations for organizing the third edition of the Festival of the Fatwa of Defense.

The Preparatory Committee for the Festival of the Defense's Fatwa organized by the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine to commemorate the historic fatwa issued by the supreme religious authority for the defense of Iraq and its sanctities, has stated that its third edition will be distinguished thanks to its various activities of high value focusing on the dimensions of this fatwa and how the Iraqis responded to it and achieved victory over the terrorist ISIL gangs and liberating the Iraqi usurped land from the clutches of these gangs.

The member of the Preparatory Committee and assistant head of the Department of Cultural and Intellectual Affairs at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; Mr. Ahmad Sadeq added: "The festival that will be held this year under the slogan "The victory is from you, to you, for you and you deserve it" is different as it is held after achieving the Iraqi victory by the liberation of the land of Iraq. This victory that was achieved thanks to the fatwa issued by the supreme religious authority; his eminence Sayed Ali al-Sistani, and how the Iraqis responded to it, which urged us to make the festival program distinguished by new activities that will be held for the first time."

Stressing: "The festival will be held on the 28th and 29th June, for the memory and gratitude to the martyrs and the wounded who made great sacrifices for the sake of the defense of the dear homeland. It will include:

First: Announcing the results of the competitions of story, documentary, essay, research and photography.

Second: Declaring and unveiling the Encyclopedia of the Defense Fatwa to be issued by the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine.

Third: Opening the exhibition of photography and publications held in the area between the two holy shrines.

Fourth: Establishment of a Quranic and poetic evening forums.

Fifth: Convening a conference on the crime of the era "Speicher massacre" including the presentation of films and paying tribute to the families of martyrs and the survivors of this massacre.

Sixth: Holding a research conference for research that won the research competition, under the slogan "religious authority, the fort of the Islamic nation".
