In commemoration of the fatwa of the supreme religious authority to defend Iraq and its sanctities, and to celebrate the great Iraqi victory achieved by the Iraqis against the terrorist ISIL gangs and the liberation of the usurped land of Iraq. For the third year in a row, the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine launched the fatwa for defense festival under the slogan: "Victory is from you, for you, to you and you deserve it) for the period (14 to 15 Shawwal 1439 AH / 29 to 30 June 2018) in the Hall of Imam Hassan (peace be upon him) for conferences and seminars in the holy shrine.
The opening ceremony of the festival witnessed a large presence of personalities and delegations representing many parties, as well as the presence of the Senior Official of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, its Secretary General and a number of officials, as well as delegations representing the holy shrines and sanctuaries.
And after the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and Surat al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs of Iraq, then listening to the national anthem and the anthem of the holy shrine, the senior official of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; Sayed Ahmad al-Safi, delivered his word in which he highlighted the importance of this fatwa to achieve victory, stating that he who fights based on his belief does have only one goal either victory or martyrdom, so he is a winner in both cases, and history that is written by blood is very special.
Followed by the word of the preparatory committee of the festival, delivered by Dr. Karim Hussein Naseh, in which he stressed thanks to the wisdom of the supreme religious authority, the men of the popular mobilization achieved victory for the principle of the true religion.
Then a statement was made by Dr. Sarhan Jaffat Salman to introduce the Encyclopaedia of the fatwa for the defense, which a documentary project to document the events since the issuance of the fatwa until victory, supported by infographic film showing some information and numbers and future plans of the encyclopaedia.
The ceremony also included delivering some poems by the poet Hasan Sami al-Abdallah and the poet Haydar Ahmad Abd al-Saheb.
The ceremony was then concluded by the opening of the exhibition of art works related to the fatwa for defense held in the square between the two holy shrines. To know more, please click here.
