More than 18000 children conclude their Quranic summer courses

The Holy Quran Institute of the Department of Islamic and Human Knowledge Affairs at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine celebrated the graduation of more than 18,000 students from five provinces of the Qur'anic summer courses held by the Institute during 45 days. The ceremony was held in the holy shrine of Aba al-Fadl al Abbas (peace be upon him) where they learned Quranic sciences, in addition to the jurisprudence, doctrinal and educational lessons supervised by qualified Quranic specialists.

The closing ceremony was held on Friday 27th of Dhu al-Qi'dah 1439 AH corresponding to August 10, 2018 in the presence of participants and officials of Quranic centers of the Quran Institute at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and a number of its officials as well as parents and representatives of the holy shrines and sanctuaries and delegations representing Quranic institutions from Inside and outside Iraq.

After the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, there was a speech of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine delivered by Sayed. Adnan al-Musawi from the religious affairs department in which he welcomed the attendees and thanked the participants of this course. He also congratulated the students of this blessed project.

This was followed by the speech of the director of the Holy Quran Institute, Sheikh Jawad Nasraoui, in which he stated that "the Qur'anic summer courses are held every year for the eighth year in a row because of the increasing interest that was given by the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine in the person of its Senior Official and all the officials of all the departments of the holy shrine. At the beginning of this project in 2011, it started with 150 students, and after seven years, the number of students has increased to 18,000 students in five Iraqi governorates including Karbala, the holy city of Najaf, Baghdad, Samawah and Babylon in addition to the Hindya district. The participating boys learn during 45 days lessons in jurisprudence, beliefs and ethics and the biography of the Prophet and his Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) in addition to the memorization of parts [Juz'] of the Holy Quran with the correct recitation."

Indicating that "the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has ensured all for the success of these courses such as the transport and food, as well as the preparation of a special curriculum and the training of teachers to be qualified to ensure these courses through many sessions. And to increase the benefit of these courses, some illustrative teaching methods were added this year, through the presentation of the prophets' stories and the biography of the imams (peace be upon them) in from of short films."

Then the student Ja'far Ali al-Tufayli has delivered the word of the students who participated in these courses in Arabic and English, saying: The project of the Quranic summer courses, which was established by the Institute of the Holy Quran at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine was a great opportunity for us to invest our summer holiday, in which brings us insight and guidance. Therefore, we would like to thank all of you , starting by the Senior Official of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, his eminence Sayed Ahmed al-Safi, and all those who have made efforts to teach us and all the servants the holy shrine. And peace, mercy and blessings of God be upon you."

This ceremony was punctuated by some religious chants and poetry, as well as some recitations of verses from the Holy Quran. Then it was concluded by reading Surat al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs of Iraq and then reading parts of the Ziyarat of the Master Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) and finally the anthem of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine "Pride's Tune".
