Al Abbas Holy Shrine at the Rabee e Intizar Festival in Basra

The Rabee e Intizar festival II has been held in Basra after the Maghrib and Isha prayer on 17 Shaban 1433 – July 8, 2012 in the anniversary of the birthday of imam Mahdi (May God hasten his reappearance). The festival included the Quranic competition for memorization and recitation of the Holy Quran with the participation of reciter from inside and outside Iraq launched by the Hidaya establishment and sponsored by the office of the religious authority in Zubair.

Al Abbas Holy Shrine met the call and attended the festival represented by sayed Adnan Al Musawi, member of the Administrative council, and sheik Adel Al Wakil and other figures from the holy shrine. The festival has been covered with media. The holy shrine of imam Hussein participated with some reciters.

The ceremony included statements and poems and short play embodying the philosophy of waiting for our Messiah.

Sheik Mohammed Falak, representative of the religious authority, explained for Alkafeel net “the competition lasts for 4 days, including many activities and Quranic eves to end with distributing prizes”.
