In preparation for the revival of the Ashura rituals, the department of rituals and processions holds a deliberative conference calling for compliance with instructions and preservation of public property.

The Department of the Hussayni rituals, processions and bodies in Iraq and Islamic World of the two holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) held on Saturday 20th of Dhu al-Hijjah 1439 AH corresponding to September 1, 2018, in the hall of the Seal of the Prophets at the holy shrine of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), a deliberative preparatory conference for the revival of Ashura, to discuss the organizational, service and security aspects in the presence of sponsors and representatives of the Hussayni processions and bodies in the province of Karbala.

The conference began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and then a speech to two general secretariats of the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas, delivered by the Head of the Department of Rituals, Processions and Hussayni Bodies in Iraq and the Islamic World, Haj Riyad Ne'mat al-Salman, in which he said: "The lovers and followers of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) have two wings, one is al-Ghadeer Eid and the other is Ashura of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him). Therefore each year we hold this deliberative and consultative meeting with the owners and representatives of the processions and the Hussayni bodies in the holy province of Karbala and representatives of the local government in the province, in order to achieve the best results in the revival of these timeless Hussayni rituals and to show them to the world in the best possible way, which is possible only by concerted and united efforts of all. We discuss all matters related to the revival of this occasion in the capital of the Hussayni rituals; Karbala to preserve this identity. And the department of rituals is here to supervise the joint efforts so we can show these rituals as appropriate, as they are inspired from the principles and renaissance of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

This was followed by the speech of the Department of Hussayni rituals and processions delivered by the Assistant Head of the Department, Haj Mazen al-Wazni, in which he stressed: "The necessity of adhering to the instructions and directives that will preserve the smooth flow of rituals and the movement of processions and other mourning activities. The processions' owners have to embody the principles of the upraising of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) in reviving the memory of his martyrdom. We hope to abide by the Sharia and instructions directed by our supreme religious authority to adhere to the Hussayni rituals, not to override public property and to respect the visitors."

The meeting was followed by a discussion of the owners of the Hussayni convoys, and the representatives of the security and services departments in the province, who in turn put forward their plans to revive this occasion, and explained and clarified some of the blurred points with the inclusion of other remarks to serve the commemoration on these mourning rituals.
