Ammar Ibn Salamah al-Dallani, one of the companions of the Holy Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household) who were martyred with Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him).

Among the companions of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) some of the companions of the Holy Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household), such as Ammar Ibn Salamah al-Dallani.

Ammar has met the Holy Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household) and accompanied the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) and fought along with him in his three wars (Jamal, Nahrawan and Siffin), and fought along with Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) until he was martyred in Karbala.

He is Ammar Ibn Salamah Ibn 'Imran Ibn Dalan Abu Salamah al-Hamadani al-Dalani, noting that Banu Dalan are part of Hamadan of Qahtaniyah (Yemen, Arabs of the south). He was of the inhabitants of Kufa. He was one of the companions of the Holy Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household) and of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) and he was the one who asked the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) when the army was walking from Dhi Qar to Basra: O Commander of the Faithful, if you reach them, what will you do? He (peace be upon him) replied: I will call them to God and to His obedience, and if they refuse I will fight them! Abu Salamah then said: So, they will never defeat the one who invites to Allah!

He joined Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) when he arrived in Karbala. As 'Ubaydullah Ibn Ziyad has ordered Zijr Ibn Qays al-Ju'fi to take five hundred knights and stand in the bridge of Serah to prevent those who go out of Kufa to join Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him). Ammar Ibn Abi Salamah al-Dalani passed by them. So Zijr told him: I know where you want to go, so better for you to go back! But Salamah fought them and made them get scared to be close to him, so he went to Karbala and joined Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), and fought for his sake and was killed with the other companions of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him).
