Thanks to the two holy shrines, the international conference in the United Nations headquarters was a successful historic step.

The Director of Imam al-Kho'ei Foundation in New York, Sheikh Fadhel al-Sahlani stressed in an interview with the Al-Kafeel Global Network: "The First International Conference "Reclaiming the Intellectual Primacy and Promote Just, Peaceful and Inclusive Societies" held in the headquarters of the United Nations in New York on the eighth of this month, in cooperation with the Imam Kho’ei Foundation and the Scientific Alliance for Research and Heritage, is an event that held for the first time in history, as Muslims with all their spectrum gathered to discuss the possibilities to develop the Islamic community."

He added: "This is a historical step that will be recorded by history, and this success could not have been achieve had it not been for the efforts and presence of the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them), because they are a significant factor in the hearts of Muslims in general and not limited to followers of the approach of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), but included also the non-Muslims because Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) rose for the reform in the nation of his grandfather, and reform of the nation of his grandfather means the world.

He continued: "Therefore, people belonging to other religions appreciate this name and status. They appreciate it spiritually, intellectually and culturally and they are affected by it, their love of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) is indescribable. And this was one of the reasons for the success of this conference which carried the slogan of the two Holy Shrines".

Noting: "The work after the end of the conference includes two part, the first to adopt the outputs of the conference and transfer them from theorizing to the application, and the second is to think and plan the second edition of this conference, which is hoped to be stronger in terms of subjects and participation."

He concluded: "Our ambition is that Najaf and Karbala be the supreme banner of raising the teachings of the Almighty."
